Thai Airways International was founded as a joint venture between Thai Airways Company (TAC) and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS).

April 1, 1977

Thai Airways became fully owned by the Government as it bought the remaining 15% holding. 

1960

Flights from Bangkok to 9 overseas destinations within the Asian region were inaugurated. 

1971, 1972, and 1980 respectively

Intercontinental services were launched to Australia, Europe, and North America, respectively.

June 25, 1991

Thailand Cabinet approved a resolution so Thai Airways could list shares on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

September, 2010

Thai Airways announced making a Public Offering of a maximum of 1,000 million newly issued shares with scheduled subscriptions at nationwide branches of Bangkok Bank (except Micro branches) and Krung Thai Bank.
